A bit like watching paint dry, this might be the slowest moving film I've ever plowed through. Poetry in motion, yes, but boy is that poetry slow moving.

Profound! Ozu deserves every acclamation he's received for TOKYO STORY. One of my favorite scenes from the film is when the couple sits by the beach near the hot springs. The film is so serene and an excellent study of the complexity behind family relationships.

A film that beautifully explores the relationship between parent and child when that child has a life of their own. Ozu's brilliant hand is on full display here as is the entire cast.
