It's fair to say that until the offensive reference to the baby born in the car, during the manhunt--it was OK. Wait for the word P--------y!!!!

How is this movie different from "His Girl Friday" with Cary Grant and Lillian Russell?

Thanks for your reply, I like these old movies. Even though they're full of stereotypes from our point-of-view. I wonder how the people of the time received these stories especially the movies with rich people living in luxury in the 1930s such as "My Man Godfry".

Starts very well, some great turns and lines in the first half, but the story of the escapee isn't developed and the end is interminable. Still, I give it three stars out of four. All the players are good, Edward Everett Horton is wonderful, and Walter Catlett was a discovery for me.

Even with a cast including some of my favorites of the era, the story and dialog had little to offer. I kept watching it to the end in hopes of some redeeming turn of events that never came. Thoroughly disappointing waste of time.

Loved The Front Page! Pat O'Brian was outstanding in this wonderful Howard Hughes movie.
